1959

Bangkok Inter-Continental Hotels Co., Ltd. was established by General Chalermchai Charuvastr (then Major General).

1966

Siam Inter-Continental Hotel was opened as the first 5-star international hotel in Thailand, being also the first property of the company.

1973

Siam Center opened as the first international standard shopping mall in Thailand and introduced shopping mall business to Thai retail market.

1997

Siam Discovery opened as the first lifestyle shopping mall, with a unique integration with a luxury office tower, Siam Piwat Tower.

1997

At Siam Discovery, Loft, a famous Japanese specialty chain, was debuted for the first time by Siam Piwat with a huge fanfare. Ever since, Loft has been offering a huge variety of over 100,000 different and innovative products for everyday life.

2002

Siam Piwat decided to close down Siam Inter-Continental Hotel after 35 years of function, and demolish all of its buildings to start a new construction project for “Siam Paragon Shopping Center”.

2003

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously bestowed upon the company the new name of “Siam Piwat”.

2005

Siam Paragon was grandly launched as the first world-class luxury shopping center in Thailand with the highest private investment at the time and helped restore international investor’s confidence to the country amid the time of economic crisis.

2006

Royal Paragon Hall was launched as the world-class venue for all types of events in every scale that is strategically located in the heart of Bangkok, on the 5th floor of Siam Paragon. Ever since, it has been chosen to be the venue for various major iconic events on national and global levels, welcoming more than a million visitors annually.

2013

Throughout 40 years of operation, Siam Center has always been renovated to keep up with changing trends and customer demands through time. In 2013, Siam Center underwent a total renovation and reopened with a revolutionary concept as Siam Center – the Ideaopolis, an arena of limitless imagination and creativity where art, fashion, technology and lifestyle converge. With this new concept, Siam Center won a total of 9 international awards.

2014

Siam Piwat unveiled its new company logo. The new identity merges Siam Piwat’s rich heritage with its contemporary focus on innovation.

2015

With more than 50 years of extensive experience in facility management, Siam Piwat launched “Siam Piwat Academy”, Thailand’s first institution that covers every aspect of shopping mall and property facility management and shares it with the interested public. Siam Piwat has also collaborated with Thailand’s two leading educational institutions, Chulalongkorn University and Thammasat University, to introduce Thailand’s first specific courses of facility management.

2016

Siam Discovery re-launched as Siam Discovery – the Exploratorium, the first and biggest lifestyle specialty store in Thailand. With this project, Siam Piwat’s role as a retailer has advanced to another level and become one of managing visitors’ experiences and emotions at the destination, rather than just one of managing products, categories and displays.

2017

Siam Piwat expanded its business and established a subsidiary company, Siam Gourmet Holding Co., Ltd., to oversee its Food and Beverage business. Under Siam Gourmet Holding’s management, the first “Jamie’s Italian Restaurant” in Thailand and “My Kitchen” a super hip downtown hangout destination under the “Eat Meet Mingle” concept were launched at Siam Discovery.

2018

ICONSIAM, the icon of Thailand’s prosperity by the Chao Phraya River was opened to enchant the world, as a new symbol of national pride and the next global destination. It is a mega city project of futuristic living that puts together the best Thailand has to offer and the best of the world and projecting Thainess onto the world stage.

2020

Siam Piwat opened Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok to bring the first true premium outlet experience with the world's most recognized and popular brands to Thailand.
Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok is the megaproject and the first ever initiative of its kind opened amid Covid-19 crisis to deliver unparalleled experiences and to be an economic driver for the Thai economy.
