Siam Piwat showcases Creative Co-creation platform in Bangkok Design Week 2024, reiterating its commitment to creative economy for a sustainable city
Siam Piwat, a leading property and retail developer - the owner and operator of world-renowned destinations including Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, ICONSIAM and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, has co-created with over 100 artists, designers, and creators from various sectors to showcase a powerhouse of creativity at Bangkok Design Week 2024 (BKKDW2024) – the largest design festival in Southeast Asia. The move not only reiterates its leadership in developing world-class destinations in the heart of Bangkok with creativity and innovation, but also gears up to transform the business into a well-growing platform for creators to sustainably thrive with people, communities, society, and our planet.
Mrs. Mayuree Chaipromprasith, President - Corporate Affairs and Communications - Siam Piwat Co., Ltd., stated that as a creative leader with the innovative DNA of pioneers, Siam Piwat is committed to delivering unprecedented experiences and offering novelties to customers by joining forces with designers of different specialties. The collaboration with Bangkok Design Week 2024 is thus a valuable opportunity to craft a unique phenomenon with troops of artists and creators under the Creative Powerhouse theme. Siam Piwat has jointly organized an exhibition at the General Post Office – the main event venue in Charoen Krung district, while its shopping centers located in the center of Siam district, and ICONSIAM in Khlong San also serve as the venues for Bangkok Design Week events, allowing the young designers to showcase their abilities and contributing to the strengthening of a community of creative minds as well as a networking community for designers to develop a better city together.
Siam Piwat's booth was designed by using light bulbs which symbolizes the power of creativity that can be expanded without limit. The booth presents the heart of its business operation in the circle form by serving as a Creative Co-creation Platform for people and all stakeholders to promote the creative economy. Apart from adding color to the city, the design also takes into consideration reusable materials; for example, light bulb acrylic covers, which can be used as décor at eco-brand stores afterwards, and energy-saving light bulbs, as well as carrying a story of solar energy to ensure every element is brimmed with creativity that enriches the city and the world. Siam Center
- Siam Center presents 'NEXT ARTIST 2024' – A showcase of 35 sculptures on the G floor of Siam Center. The entries were created by students from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang under a project for emerging Thai sculpture designers of 2024, with the aim of introducing the young talents to the global stage and select the winners from 3 categories for a showcase in Lifestyle Week Tokyo, Japan, in July 2024.
- “THE ORIGINAL THAI POP CULTURE” x ABSOLUTE SIAM STORE – An exhibition to showcase stories of 10 Thai leading designers and young up-and-coming design talents at Absolute Siam, a multi-brand store offering exclusive collections from Thai designer brands.
Siam Paragon
- Documentary Club x Siam Piwat - Presenting 6 art-themed documentary films at SCBX NEXT STAGE, 4th floor, SCBX NEXT TECH, Siam Paragon, from February 2 to 4, 2024, two show times daily, from 5:00 p.m. onwards.
Siam Discovery
- The Heaven for Creative Minds - Organized by O.D.S. (Objects of Desire Store), a multi-brand home decorative store that offer a collection of designs and handicrafts from more than 130 award-winning brands, in collaboration with OMT OneMoreThing – a woven product brand overarching clothing, bags, and everyday items, woven fabrics that are designed by the greatest of the design industry to seamlessly blend the strengths of design and handicraft into one, presenting an installation art, consisting of woven fabrics and OMT’s home decorations. Enjoy the exhibition and shopping at O.D.S., 3rd floor, Siam Discovery, from January 27 to March 31, 2024.
ICONSIAM
- “INFINI-Jud,” by ceramic artist Wasinburi Supanitchawarapat, the creator of cute dog sculpture, a signature of the artist who won the Silpathorn Award and is highly recognized in Thai arts and ceramics. I-Jud has made another journey from Ratchaburi to the city, bringing along over 100 of his fellow dogs to ICONCRAFT, a door of opportunity for craftsmanship of Thai artisans from across the country. Enjoy the cuteness of I-Jud from today until February 18, 2024.
- Art in ICONSIAM - As an art destination, ICONSIAM presents an exhibition showcasing masterpieces of Thai art by national artist and world-class maestros to capture the essence of Thainess in sculptures that are showcased throughout ICONSIAM.
Bangkok Design Week 2024 takes place from January 27 - February 4, 2024, under the “Livable Scape” theme, aiming at becoming a creative platform through festivalisation for creators from various industries. It offers over 400 creative design programs contributed by over 2,000 designers and creative businesses. It also takes part in promoting Bangkok's growth and destination as a UNESCO Creative City Network Bangkok City of Design.
