Siam Piwat Group, a leading property and retail developer and the owner and operator of global destinations such as Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery—as well as a joint-venture partner of ICONSIAM and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok—has formed a strategic partnership with KASIKORNBANK Public Company Limited (KBANK) to collaboratively continue “Journey to Zero Waste” project. This partnership aims to elevate 360-degree waste management strategies and features ongoing activities throughout 2025. The initiative encourages public participation in responsible resource usage and supports long-term sustainable development.
Ms. Naratipe Ruttapradid, Chief Operating Officer of Siam Piwat Co., Ltd., stated that Siam Piwat has a policy and practice in place for environmental care and conservation for all of its premises. The company also aims to become a role model in the retail real estate sector, setting the goal to be the first organization in the industry to move towards becoming a zero-waste organization, through a comprehensive 360-degree waste management system. This initiative is intended to promote environmental balance and provide a sustainable solution to waste management challenges in Thailand.
In the past, Siam Piwat launched Thailand’s first drive-thru drop-off Recycle Collection Center — to collect clean, used packaging materials. The opening of this center has been met with strong interest from eco-conscious communities whose shares the same waste management vision. The company places great importance on a systematic and end-to-end waste separation process across the entire value chain. This initiative offers a meaningful opportunity for the public to contribute to environmental efforts and help build a better society and a healthier planet.
This year, Siam Piwat is collaborating with KASIKORNBANK, a like-minded partner that shares the same commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. Together, we will expand the Journey to Zero Waste project through a range of collaborative initiatives, including the Recycle Collection Center, Hazardous Waste Program, “Yak KuadS Huay Mor” (Reusable Plastic Bottles for Doctors) campaign, in-mall recycling collaboration with ONESIAM retail tenants, and Mai Tae Ruem (Don’t Mix Waste) campaign.
Mr. Rawee Angthong, Senior Director of the Corporate Sustainability Integration Department at KASIKORNBANK, stated that the collaboration between KASIKORNBANK and Siam Piwat represents a powerful synergy between two organizations that share aligned environmental values and vision. This partnership aims to create impactful activities that promote public participation, such as encouraging customers to sort their waste before disposal and drop off sorted recyclables at the Recycle Collection Center. This approach promotes efficient waste management from upstream to downstream, helping to reduce waste volume and alleviate environmental issues.
As an added incentive, participating customers can convert their waste into ONESIAM Coins. KASIKORNBANK will offer 2x ONESIAM Coin rewards to KBANK credit cardholders who join the program, valid through December 31, 2025.
The Journey to Zero Waste initiative aligns with the principles of the circular economy, emphasizing the efficient use of resources to minimize environmental impact and reduce waste. This project reflects Siam Piwat’s strong environmental commitment and serves as a model for comprehensive waste management. It also encourages Thai people to manage waste more effectively through collaboration with a wide range of partners, including Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Pathumwan District Office, the Pollution Control Department, and retail tenants across Siam Piwat’s shopping destinations, all of whom have actively supported the initiative.
Achieving long-term solutions to Thailand’s plastic waste problem and ensuring environmental balance is a shared responsibility. It begins with simple, everyday changes—like waste separation and conscious consumption—and requires everyone’s participation. By joining these efforts, each of us can help protect our environment for the well-being of our society and the future of our planet.
