22 JULY 2025 CORPORATE
Siam Piwat Co., Ltd., a leading real estate and retail developer, is reaffirming its leadership in creating sustainable, world-class destinations by signing a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and 21 partners from the public, private, and civil society sectors to declare their joint commitment to achieving the Sustainable Tourism Goals (STGs) by 2030 and to continuously fostering a robust tourism ecosystem built on high-quality and sustainable growth. The LOI signing ceremony, held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok on July 21, 2025, was presided over and witnessed by Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, with key signatories including Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the TAT, and Ms. Naratipe Ruttapradid, President of Operations at Siam Piwat Co., Ltd.
This collaboration demonstrates the shared commitment of all sectors to achieving the STGs by 2030 and will serve as a key mechanism for jointly establishing sustainable tourism policies and action plans for 2026–2027 and elevating tourism management standards across economic, social, environmental, and governance dimensions, with emphasis on equality, local community engagement, and the promotion of eco-tourism activities across all sectors, as well as decarbonization, resource efficiency, and biodiversity conservation.
Siam Piwat strives to foster shared, sustainable growth through its operations under the “Siam Piwat Way” mission by serving as a platform of opportunities that systematically connects businesses, people, communities, and the environment through various activities across its shopping centers and business processes. This commitment is evident across various initiatives, such as its comprehensive waste management, driven by the Siam Piwat 360° Waste Journey to Zero Waste project; its effort to reduce food waste by becoming the first shopping center group to join the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s “No Mixed Waste” program; and the installation of solar rooftops at ICONSIAM and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok to achieve 100% renewable energy consumption by 2030. Siam Piwat is also the first shopping center operator to join the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA)’s Utility Green Tariff (UGT1) program, which has resulted in renewable energy accounting for 30% of its total electricity consumption by 2025, ahead of the original 2026 schedule. In addition, Siam Piwat has developed ICONCRAFT and SookSiam as platforms to create opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and grow on the global stage.
Driven by its commitment to elevating the standards of the Thai retail property sector and serving as a model for urban development in economic, social, and cultural aspects, Siam Piwat stands ready to advance Thailand’s tourism industry towards international standards of sustainability.
