Siam Piwat reaffirms its world-class sustainability vision in pursuit of 100% clean energy, with “NEXTOPIA” at Siam Paragon designated as a key landmark for the 20th anniversary of Earth Hour

Siam Piwat Group, the leading real estate and retail developer behind world-class destinations such as Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, and ICONSIAM, is reinforcing its environmental stewardship by joining the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Earth Hour in Thailand. To mark the occasion, NEXTOPIA at Siam Paragon is designated as a key “spotlight” location for the global lights-out campaign, showcasing its capabilities as a prototype city powered by 100% clean energy.

- A Vision for the Future: Siam Piwat and Sustainable Energy Management Guided by the vision of being the leading developer of extraordinary experiences, Siam Piwat prioritizes a sustainable co-existence with the environment and is actively managing an urban energy ecosystem through concrete initiatives, including the installation of solar rooftops, the adoption of high-efficiency chiller systems, and a complete transition to LED lighting, with the ultimate goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. This commitment is already bearing fruit, with Siam Piwat’s shopping centers officially certified as 100% carbon neutral by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization in 2025.

- Earth Hour: Going Beyond Turning Off Lights and Fostering Collective Awareness Earth Hour was first launched by WWF in Sydney in 2007, with over 2.2 million people and over 2,000 establishments joining the one-hour lights-out to save energy and raise awareness of global warming. Now, it has grown from a symbolic gesture into a vital tool for fostering long-term awareness about the climate crisis. This year, NEXTOPIA, located on the 5th Floor at Siam Paragon, has been honored by the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) Thailand as one of five key landmarks in the country, alongside ICONSIAM, Wat Arun Ratchawararam (the Temple of Dawn), Wat Saket (the Golden Mount), and the Giant Swing, to lead the lights-out event, sending a powerful message to the world about the urgency of natural resource conservation.

- NEXTOPIA at Siam Paragon: A World-Class Prototype The 20th-anniversary celebration is particularly extraordinary as it takes place at NEXTOPIA, a prototype city of the future, which has been certified to the internationally recognized EDGE Advanced standard for energy efficiency and to the Fitwel standard for promoting the well-being of occupants through space design. Equipped with the innovative floor radiant cooling system, NEXTOPIA is set to be powered by 100% clean energy by 2026. As such, the year’s event is not merely a symbolic gesture, but an illustration of how a world-class retail space can operate in perfect harmony with environmental conservation.

- From Earth Hour to Earth Everyday: Creating a Better World Together

Siam Piwat and NEXTOPIA cordially invite everyone to turn environmental awareness into action through the “Give an Hour for Earth” campaign. Held over six days from March 24–29, 2026, at NEXTOPIA on the 5th Floor of Siam Paragon, the event features several activities:

Energy Zone: Generate clean energy firsthand via power-generating bicycles and kinetic floors.

Nature Documentaries: Draw inspiration from world-renowned series such as Our Planet, Jungles, and Freshwater.

Sustainable Workshops: Participate in the “Plantable Seed Workshop” or explore the “Sticker Book for Kids” to cultivate eco-consciousness in the next generation.

Siam Piwat and NEXTOPIA at Siam Paragon believe that the collective power demonstrated at this year’s Earth Hour will serve as a catalyst for a lifestyle shift toward “Earth Everyday,” thereby driving Thailand toward a low-carbon society and creating a sustainable world for generations to come.
