Siam Piwat creates a new model of sustainable urban development through the power of partnerships with environmental champions

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Siam Piwat celebrates the power of partnerships through the voice of bona fide eco-advocates who have been a driving force for urban development across economic, social, and cultural dimensions and champions of responsible resource consumption. Guided by the “Siam Piwat Way” – a philosophy of achieving sustainable growth alongside environmental care for a better world, Siam Piwat has implemented comprehensive 360° waste management and efficient energy management to foster an environmental balance in Thailand, co-create an ecosystem of sustainability, and ultimately achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh Intrachooto Sustainability Advisor, Siam Piwat Co., Ltd.

“Siam Piwat has long been a champion of sustainability, particularly with regard to social and environmental dimensions. They have been working actively to foster understanding and engagement with these issues among the public. This is not just a retail developer but a platform that encourages brands to integrate eco-conscious concepts like recycling and upcycling into their products. This, in turn, has inspired a new wave of SMEs and startups driven by green processes, all working to create a sustainable future for society.”

Dr. Itthikorn Srijanban CEO, WasteBuy Delivery Co., Ltd. and Wongpanit Suvarnabhumi Recycle Station Co., Ltd.

“Siam Piwat’s Recycle Collection Center is a highly effective waste segregation model. This is particularly true for the drop-off point for ‘orphan waste’ (which is then converted into refuse-derived fuels, or RDFs), established in collaboration with Wongpanit Suvarnabhumi and open to the public on the first Saturday of every month. We’ve seen increasing participation as people become more aware of issues like global warming and PM2.5 and recognize how relevant they are to their lives. The Recycle Collection Center helps ensure waste is kept within the system and converted into alternative energy for power plants, generating clean energy and contributing to better air quality for all of us.”

Theerachai Suphamethee – Design Director and Founder, Qualy

“The collaboration between Qualy and Siam Piwat was born out of a common vision: a commitment to co-creating positive impacts for the world. This includes utilizing waste as a raw material for our products, designing exclusive New Year gifts for Siam Piwat, and organizing events at Ecotopia, which provides space and opportunities for new vendors who have previously lacked sales channels. We look forward to expanding our eco-conscious initiatives with Ecotopia to an even grander scale in the near future.”

Jirarot “Wat” Pojanawaraphan – CEO, CIRCULAR

“Climate change isn’t a problem for any one particular person. That’s why CIRCULAR has partnered with Siam Piwat and Ecotopia to recycle old staff uniforms and utilize textile waste. Through this process, which reduces water consumption, chemical use in dyeing, and CO2 emissions, we transform waste into a new collection of eco-friendly apparel, set to be released soon. This initiative not only lessens our environmental impact but also serves as an example of how we can inspire everyone to take part in caring for our planet together.”

Kamonchanok “Mew” Klainok – Co-Founder, Wastic

“Siam Piwat has given brands like Wastic the opportunity to be part of its business ecosystem through Ecotopia, a platform that places a strong emphasis on sustainability. Wastic receives sorted glass bottles from Siam Piwat and uses them as the primary raw material to produce decorative jewelry for eyewear. This not only adds value to used materials but also creatively transforms them into valuable items.”

“Having our products made available in Ecotopia is like opening a major gateway, as it has enabled us to introduce our eco-friendly products to a large customer base and make them easily accessible. We hope to see everyone participate in making small changes that collectively create significant positive impacts for a better world.”
